Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish metal band formed in 1989 in Gothenburg. Initially called Septic Broiler , the band changed its name to Dark Tranquillity shortly after recording the Enfeebled Earth demo. The band is considered one of the pioneers of the melodic death metal genre, alongside In Flames and At the Gates . Over the course of their career, they have released numerous albums, including seminal works like "The Gallery" and "Damage Done" Their work has had a significant influence on the genre and inspired many followers.
