Christian McBride is an American jazz bassist and composer, born in 1972 in Philadelphia, USA. Known for his virtuosity and versatility, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Sting, Pat Metheny, and Chick Corea. Over his career, McBride has released numerous albums, such as "Conversations with Christian" and "Out Here", and has won multiple Grammy Awards. He is also the artistic director of the Newport Jazz Festival. His contributions to jazz include not only his performances but also his efforts to mentor young musicians and promote the genre globally.
