Billie Joe Armstrong is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and actor born in 1972. He is best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the punk rock band Green Day, which he co-founded with Mike Dirnt in 1987. Armstrong is also a member of other punk rock projects, including Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs, The Network, The Longshot, and The Coverups. With Green Day, he achieved global success with albums like "Dookie" and "American Idiot".
