Big L , real name Ламонт Коулман , was an American rapper from East Harlem, New York City, born in 1974. A representative of the rap and hip-hop genres, he rose to prominence in the 1990s for his freestyle skills. Big L was a member of the groups Children of the Corn and Diggin' in the Crates Crew . In 1995, he released his debut album "Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous" on Columbia Records , which later gained a cult following among underground hip-hop fans. His work had a significant influence on the development of the genre, despite his tragic death in 1999.
