
Big Bopper, born as Jiles Perry Richardson Jr., was an American rock and roll and pop singer from Texas, USA. Known for his energetic style and deep voice, he gained fame in the late 1950s. His most iconic hit, "Chantilly Lace", became a defining track of the rock and roll era. In addition to his singing career, he was a songwriter and radio DJ, contributing to the early development of rock music. Tragically, his life was cut short in the infamous 1959 plane crash that also claimed the lives of Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. Big Bopper remains a symbol of the vibrant beginnings of rock and roll.
