Aqualung , real name Matt Hales , is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer born in the UK. He works in the alternative and pop genres. He gained fame in the early 2000s with the song "Strange and Beautiful" which reached the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart and was featured in a Volkswagen Beetle commercial. In the US, he gained popularity with the song "Brighter Than Sunshine" which was used in the film "A Lot Like Love." Aqualung has released seven albums, the most recent of which, "Dead Letters" was released in 2022. His work has had a significant influence on alternative pop music.
