Angela Gossow is a German singer born in 1974, known as one of the most prominent death metal vocalists. She was the vocalist of the Swedish death metal band Arch Enemy until March 17, 2014, after which she focused on the band's commercial promotion and management. Previously, Angela Gossow performed in the bands Asmodina and Mistress . Her growling-based performance style has made her one of the few successful women in metal music. Her musical influences include Jeff Walker ( Carcass ), David Vincent ( Morbid Angel ), Chuck Billy ( Testament ), and others. Angela Gossow has made a significant contribution to the popularization of female vocals in extreme metal.
