Ajattara is a Finnish dark metal band founded in 1996 in Finland by former Amorphis member Pasi Koskinen. The band gained recognition for the dark atmosphere of their compositions and albums such as "Murhat" which reached number 5 on the Finnish charts. After a successful period, the band announced their disbandment in 2012, but Koskinen announced their reunion in 2016. Ajattara have made a significant contribution to the development of dark metal and remain one of the genre's iconic bands in Finland.
