Его ветер-отец причесывал,

Умывала его мать-река,

А когда он вставал в полный рост —

Доставал головой до облака.

Только солнце в дорогу трогалось —

Утро юркало к нему в окно.

Он крутил-вертел вечный движитель,

Но однажды вдруг изменилось все.

Уронила ночь слепая черный небосвод

Покрывала сном ему на грудь.

Ему вечер-брат сказки сказывал,

Сестры-звездочки его баюкали,

Он из песен слова разучивал,

Да на буквы слова раскладывал.

И вот спит исполин могучим сном,

Ему незачем больше знать

Тот язык, на котором он молчит

О неведомых чудесах.

Уронила ночь слепая черный небосвод

Покрывала сном ему на грудь,

Наклонила щит железный полная луна,

Оставляя миру млечный путь.

His father-wind combed his hair,
