My thoughts cascading

Hands are shaking

Walls adorned with colorless paintings

Awake beneath the light of moon

Weaving dreams of endless gloom

The lead weight hanging in my chest

Left me with scars I can’t forget

From all the words I’ve left unsaid

And those I spoke that I regret

Sins far too grave to be atoned

I’m so far gone at twenty-two

My name engraved into the stone

As death awaits across the room

I’ll leave this pain I sought

Recollect my thoughts and start anew

Waiting for the break of dawn

Holding on till sunrise, I will bloom

Too much time I’ve spent

Trapped inside the walls of my own head

Struggling to pull through

But all my life has lead to this

Break free from this chrysalis

Create and be consumed

Through the cracks, the sunlight shone

Reaping that which once was sown

A final breath when fate’s imposed

I found solace in the overgrown
