I pour a glass of hearty wine

I set the tables straight

I wear my jacket and my tie

And at the door I wait

The guests arrive in finery

And start to load their plates

But someone tell me if you could

Is this a wedding or a wake

I stand before you all my friends

We hold our glasses high

We drink a toast to life and love

And all that surely dies

To love revealed and hopes concealed

And who we need forsake
