Schwarze Wolken - Wolfenmond

Schweigen kehrt ein, das Licht trinkt die Nacht

Betrunken von Träumen, der Bursche erwacht

Die Sonne verhangen, niemand ist dort

Ganz still ist der Raum, der Jemand ist fort

Doch hört er die Worte: «Verlasse das Gut

Schwarze Wolken nahen, nimm all deinen Mut

Stille wird herrschen, nimm deine Schar

Treib ein dein Vieh, denn der Schatten ist nah!»

Ein tiefes Tal in den Bergen allein

Das Tor ist dein Schutz, doch lass niemanden ein

Egal wer klopft, auch beim dritten Mal nicht

Der Tod ist schlau, wechselt sein Gesicht

Der Bursche versprach es und hält sein Wort

Vertraut diesem Traum, bringt die Seinen fort

Lässt alles zurück und gibt den Hof auf

Er treibt seine Schafe in die Berge hinauf

Das Tor ist stark, sie sind sicher im Tal

Nach einem Mond klopft‘s zum ersten Mal

Einlass erbittet ein alter Mann

Hat schlimmes erlebt, man sieht es ihm an

Das Tor bleibt verschlossen und der Bursche hart

Beim zweiten Mal klopft ein Mädchen so zart

Doch nicht mal sie lässt der Bursche herein

So kann der Tod nicht zu Gast bei ihm sein

Das Warten wird lang, viele Monde vergehn

Zum dritten Mal hat man keinen gesehn

Missmut und Zweifel breiten sich aus

Der Schatten scheint fort, sie wollen nach Haus

Nur ein kleiner Blick durch den schmalen Spalt

Vielleicht können wir ja nach Hause schon bald

So späht der Bursche dann doch durch das Tor

Still ist’s im Tal, niemand steht davor

Der Bursche schließt das Tor voller Glück

Er ist sich nun sicher, sie können zurück

Doch Schatten gehen, schwarze Wolken ziehn

Der Gast ist da und sie können nicht fliehn

Die Nase zu hoch, den Blick voller Stolz

Leise, kleine Pfoten schlüpfen so durch das Holz

Zu sanft war das Klopfen, zu nichtig ihr Schatten

Er hat’s übersehn, vor dem Tor waren Ratten

Silence falls, the light drinks the night

Drunk on dreams, the fellow wakes up

The sun is overcast, nobody is there

The room is very still, someone is gone

But he hears the words: "Leave the estate

Black clouds are approaching, take all your courage

Silence will reign, take your company

Drive your cattle in, for the shadow is near!'

A deep valley in the mountains alone

The gate is your protection, but let no one in

No matter who knocks, not even the third time

Death is clever, changes his face

But the boy won't even let her in

So death cannot be his guest

The wait will be long, many moons will pass

For the third time you didn't see anyone

Discontent and doubts spread

The shadow seems gone, they want to go home

Just a peek through the narrow gap

Maybe we can go home soon

So the boy peeks through the gate after all

It's quiet in the valley, no one is standing in front of it

The boy closes the gate full of happiness

He is now sure they can go back

But shadows go, black clouds move

The guest is there and they cannot flee

The nose too high, the look full of pride

Quiet, small paws slip through the wood

The knocking was too gentle, her shadow too futile

He missed it, there were rats in front of the gate
