Behold the serpent of death

The vicious paths it weaves

And coils around this world

Trapped, ensnared

Forever

Cloaked in ruin

Grown lean and bitter

Some said mad

A malign star kept him

Feral, unguarded

Cast to the wind and dust

He seeks deliverance

From this temple of rust

Hear the herald call

Closed gate

Opened at god’s command

Pale colours of the afterlife

Which only the dead may see

Closed gate of paradise

Stands before me

I realise my self-deception now

Waiting for the serpent to tempt me

Last words are only words

And even they will fail me

A malign star

Buried deep

In the heart of all things

When the death of all things comes

The sky shall open

And no god will weep for you

His golden tomb

Broken
