Однажды вечером в саду,

Я встретил девушку одну,

Она гуляла при луне,

Я шел за ней в тени аллей,

Она заметила меня,

И предложила — будь со мной,

А наши тени между тем,

Слились в одну между собой,

Я крикнул:

Аллелуйя, золотой,

Унеси меня с собой,

Над собором, над водой,

Над холодною землей.

Ее спросил я: «Где живешь?»,

Она сказала: «Высоко»,

И показав наверх рукой,

Шепнула как ее зовут:

Венера.

Мы простились с ней,

Всходило солнце, звезды гасли,

И наши тени на траве,

Исчезли вместе в тот же час,

Я крикнул:

Аллелуйя, золотой,

Унеси меня с собой,

Над собором, над водой,

Вслед за облачной звездой.

One evening in the garden
