Как бы мне научиться прощать,

Попадая в чужие капканы,

Возвращаться и вновь начинать,

Зализав на ветру свои раны?

Как бы мне научиться просить

Снисхождения милости воли

Может быть, станет легче мне жить,

Может быть, заслужу лучшей доли?

А пока всё краем поля!

Вот такая волчья доля…

Впереди стволы резные,

Позади собаки злые.

И пока я не умею

С поводком ходить на шее,

И зачем менять природу —

Сохраню свою породу.

Как бы мне научиться терпеть

Униженья, душевные муки,

Прикусить свой язык и хрипеть

Не сжимать, а протягивать руки?

Как бы мне научиться смотреть

Взглядом робким, несмелым, покорным,

Принимая на голову плеть,

Быть хозяину верным дозорным?

А пока всё краем поля!

Вот такая волчья доля…
