Колесо - Выход

Катилось колесо, колесо;

Катилось далеко, далеко;

Я бежал ему вослед, вослед,

Думал — вот сейчас поймаю — ан нет.

По оврагам, да и полям, по полям,

По болотам и лесам, по лесам,

То поманит, позовёт, позовёт,

То обманет и опять уйдёт.

Вот почти что было рядом, подать рукой.

Глядь: уж вовсе нет его, скрылось за горой

И смеется бесовским смехом мне в лицо.

Непростое то, видать, колесо.

Катилось колесо, колесо;

Катилось далеко, далеко;

Я бежал ему вослед, вослед,

Думал — вот сейчас поймаю — где там.

The wheel was rolling, the wheel was rolling;

It rolled far, far away;

I ran after him, after him,

I thought - I'll catch it now - but no.

Through the ravines, and through the fields, through the fields,

Through swamps and forests, through forests,

It will beckon, call, call,

That will deceive and leave again.

That's almost what was nearby, a stone's throw away.

Look: it’s not there at all, it’s hidden behind the mountain

And laughs demonic laughter in my face.
