Me he asomado a mi ventana

para ver salir el sol,

y fumé en silencio y vi llegar la tempestad.

Antes de la lluvia vi pasar

buscando el mar,

miles de aves blancas

emigrando a otro lugar.

Sé muy bien que yo también

pensé en cruzar el mar,

mas, esperé que pase

aquí la tempestad.

Quiero ver el cielo nuestro

colorearse al aclarar;

quiero estar aquí

cuando dejemos de llorar.

Y lloró la lluvia y no ha

parado de llover,

pero mientras dure

tengo cerca de mi mujer.

Sé que no hay diluvio

que no pare alguna vez

y que nuestra siembra es buena

y no se perderá.

I have looked out my window

to see the sun rise,

and I smoked in silence and saw the storm arrive.

Before the rain I saw pass

looking for the sea,

thousands of white birds

migrating to another place.

I know very well that I too

I thought of crossing the sea,

more, I waited for it to happen

here the storm.

I want to see our sky

coloring when lightening;

I want to be here

when we stop crying

And the rain cried and has not

stopped raining,

but while it lasts

I have close to my wife.

I know there is no flood

never stop

and that our sowing is good

and it will not be lost.
