I loved how I slept

When I was younger and content

With all the simple things I had

So much more then

I had peace, I had you to tell me

That it would all turn out just fine

So now I ask you

Did we all turn out just fine?

Was it in me not to see you

Not to close my eyes and turn?

How could I miss it now?

I loved how we spoke

With our eyes closed and our hands

And our faith like fire burning inside

I want to kill this need to be somebody else

I want to see my friends doing okay

Not feeling sad and strange

But nowadays, why is it so hard?

Cut my chest wide open

To see that I’m still longing

I can’t find what is missing

My peace is gone and it won’t come back
