There were several angels watching you

Through the sunset, through the blue

It was plain as day, there was no mistake

There were several angels in your wake

There were several angels as you went past

There was fire and steel and trumpet blast

There was magic carrying you along

A single rose and a river’s song

And that was you

And you were fleeting

The rest was space

And wings still beating

Like there was no place you could take the call from

Like grace was somewhere you could fall from

There are several angels still around

Looking to the sky, looking to the ground

You can’t tell an angel some of that stuff

But several should have been enough
