At night I find it hard to let go

As the shadows spin

At night the streets are wide and well lit

But I’m compressed in it

Sleep is my weakness

Can’t reach NREM

When I’m at my deepest

Dream I’m waking up again

The neons have room to breathe

Whilst the opposite happens to me

Walls are closing in

Thoughts, they flicker like a fused lamp

Embarrassed laughter distracts my mind
