convoler jour et nuit.

Tu verrais des cargos jalouser les voiliers,

flirtant avec le vent, le vent,

Tu verrais les gamins et leurs filets trainant,

Tu verrais l’oeil des femmes cajoler des enfants

qui s’en iront marins, gamins.

Tu verrais tu vivrais ici,

sans avoir à rêver d’ailleurs,

Tu coulerais tes jours, tes nuits, aux portes de ce monde meilleur,

Sans penser à demain,

ni rien.

Tu verrais ce village aux allées valiées

You would see birds

mate day and night.

You would see freighters jealous of sailboats,

flirting with the wind, the wind,

You would see the kids and their dragging nets,

You would see the eyes of women cuddle children

who will go sailors, kids.

You would see you would live here,

without having to dream elsewhere,

You would spend your days, your nights, at the gates of this better world,
