the carasel turning near avenue C

your mind is a shipwreck

your heart is the sea

we sit and we wait

for the engines to swish

oh you were a cannon ball waiting to sound

volunteers blurred all the carnival grounds

and I bought you a drink

if your in the mood to get down

oh my mind can wander back unhealthily far

and i know its not presently causing the scars

but sometimes i think maybe we shouldnt made out more in high school

in the night little carnivals taking flight on a megabus

and we’ll scream for two hearts in lust

till the brinks

when the festival opens you tear down the gates

metal detectors uncover the steak

and your second hand x-rated bullet proof open heart
