The Greatest Illusion - Stolas

I gained the ability to fly.

It was the greatest freedom I’ve ever felt.

The skies opened up.

Any movement felt natural.

The wind wrapped around my skin,

gracing me with its presence.

With the Earth below, my body escaped the atmosphere.

The heavens unravelled their every mystery.

Time stood still.

I felt at peace.

Before I could speak, a dark thought wandered in:

I remembered the one I loved.

Upon my return, hastened in every way,

my body aged, and I could never find her.

I felt cursed in every bone.

The Earth began to pull upon my flesh.

It is here I will stay

until the gods bring her back.
