Spinnen -

Er wonen zwarte spinnen

In het land onder m’n bed

Ze zijn groter dan ikzelf ben

Ze zijn harig tot en met

Ze komen 's nachts tevoorschijn

Zulke reuzen en reuzinnen!

En dan moet ik gillen — urenlang

Dan kruip ik achter het behang

Want ik ben zo ontzettend bang voor spinnen

O jee jee, spinnen

Ze is zo bang voor spinnen

Voor die vieze, enge, dikke, grote kop

En die enorme poten

Stop!

Ik weet niet wat ik moet beginnen

Ze is zo bang voor spinnen

Als papa me naar bed brengt

Zegt-ie: 'Doe toch niet zo dom

Die gevaartjes uit jouw dromen

Die bestaan niet, meisje, kom'

Hij zegt: 'Je moet die angsten

Maar eens zien te overwinnen'

Hij zegt: 'Niet gaan huilen — géén gezicht

Ga slapen, doe je ogen dicht

Net als een kleine kat die ligt te spinnen…'

O jee jee, spinnen

Ze is zo bang voor spinnen

Voor die vieze, enge, dikke, grote kop

En die enorme poten

Stop!

Ik weet niet wat ik moet beginnen

Als mama me naar bed brengt

Zegt ze: 'Kind, niks aan de hand

Ik heb gister nog gestofzuigd

In dat akelige land'

Ze zegt om me te sussen:

'Wil ik een verhaal verzinnen?'

Ze zegt: 'Er was eens lang gelee

Een hoge toren bij de zee

En daarin zat een blonde fee te spinnen…'
