300 men stood strong

Their foes came from the sea, the battle had begun

They shot their arrows high, and blotted out the sun

The 300 knew the battle could not be won

They made their final stand, by morning they would fall

As free men they’d die by Leonidas' call

«The God — King will bleed», the Spartans could stand tall

The 300 gave their lives as freedom’s final wall

Leonidas climbed, blessings he sought

By the Gods decree, no war be fought

But the Ephors lied, by Persians bought

Leonidas left, 300 men he brought

They took their shield, their spear and blade

And left to meet the Persian raid

The phalanx’s strong, the Hot Gates' blockade

It was suicide, the plan he’d made

He threw his helmet off, his spear shot through the sky

Their legacy lives on, the day these Spartans die.
