To the great expanse of fallen

In the infinite, in the far

Outstretching spaces

Ride the sign as water-mother

Towards the east, and also southward

Towards the west, and also northward

The sea in all directions

In a solitude of ethereal

From the East in fierceness

Whips the ocean into surges

Strikes the stars with sprays of weeping

Union now of force and beauty

Sink the storm-winds into slumber

Play the forces of the Northland

Till at last in full conception

Ride the sign as water-mother
