It’s a hard day today

Thinking through a haze

Of regret and resentment

A sentimental daze

A dark february morning

The rays of the sun grow cold

A greeting without feeling

The words senseless and old

How do I go on like this

When everything fades away

And every thought I penned

For each forgotten friend

Lacking luster growing gray

Today

This was meant to be the last time

It’s a hard day today

Just beneath the skin

Can’t find the words to say

The meaning sinking in

A cold february morning

No light to warm my face

Sickening loss of feeling

No love in this embrace

How do I go on like this

It matters less each day

Never making it in
