Just something that I had on my mind, you know what I am saying

I felt like we should probably talk about it before it gets too late

It’s just another day another couple dollars

Looking for a better way to dissipate my problems

Put my pain in a swisher just to stop the throbbing

In my head but I can still here these people hollerin

They wanna see what’s on my mind;

the stories that I tell

The heavens that I seek while I’m livin' in this hell

Addicted to this state of mind fueled by the sales;

to merchandised my life and let me die upon a shelf

I know that there’s more to this than fortune and fame.

And there more to being who I am in than what’s in my name.

And I can feel a greater presence when I am up on this stage

Pushin' me to be the man that I pushed away.

So I open up my arms my heart and my soul

And I set aside the time to let YOU take control

Cause lately it seems like YOU the only one that knows

The truth about my destiny and where this road will go

The path I have before me and the trail I left behind

Are two different reflections of livin life on the line

One will grant salvation in the blink of an eye.

And the other sure demise at the drop of a dime

My mind was rock bottom in the pit of streets

Like an animal just looking for a feast of fresh meat

I only found happiness at the cost of my defeat

Which left me where I started in the belly of a beast

Mistakes are necessary if you notice when you make’em

And there lesson to be learned so I just stand in line and take’em

Keep mind focused while I’m tryin not to break’em

And when worries weigh me down I pray to god to help me shake’em

It’s battle every day and I am fighten for freedom

To have everlasting life in a beautiful kingdom

So change me like the seasons give me a better reason

To be a better leader for myself and all my people

Well things are on the up and up just look at me now

I’m a soldier from a sinner, gotcha wonderin' how

I just made a few adjustments and set me some goals

Took a good look at myself and had a talk with my soul

We decided it was time for us to brighten up our path

Fill in a few pot holes and plant some new grass

Pick up the broken bottles and clean up all the trash

Get some traffic flowin through my way and treatem first class

Be their guiding light and show’em there’s a better way

So they lead a better life and stop throwin theirs away

Try to be a puzzle piece to a never ending grave

Will only get you six feet deeper in the game
