They say you play with fire then you get burned

But even flame can remain when the water returns from the ground

Rocks skipped against the surface on brighter days

From my childhood laid in grass while the fire blaze

While watching out for poisonous snakes

Talking ‘bout if we was fly and which route we would take

And our mistakes had us petrified, better yet electrified

Adrenaline rush, keep up or go and catch a ride

But still grounded but the fire burns eternal

Fighting with my cousin ‘cause I read her journal

Now I’m flying out the room, yeah I knew she wouldn’t like it

But we were kids, fast forward I’m a psychic

‘cause I got my future where my palm don’t bug me

World going dark, ghost hunt turning ugly

But I still remember all the times that we played in the grass

'til it’s dark wishing daylight’ll last

Everybody has a weakness

The same way everybody has a secret

So we keep it in our memories

I’m getting strength by the decimal

From righting these wrongs, I hope it’s legible

The fire inside she fights

I know firsthand

By a huge wave of depression

Close to wiping out

Headfirst into that icehouse you was writing ‘bout

In eighth grade, where I fell in love with a ginger

As told by my best friend, wish I could remember

Your face, I only picture a blur

Thought the grass was greener when I was rocking with her

Flying through the skies as a youth

Imagination of static, sporadic fairies that carry us home

Made a habit of dreaming

Even through the dark days and that is my weakness

I hope we never part ways, ever
