Рано утром уходили мы в степь

Вражьей стае в глаза посмотреть,

И уже выходя за порог,

Оглянулся, удержаться не смог…

Солнышко мое красное,

Алая зоря ясная…

Нас не много, вражья стая сильна…

Нас не много, но пройти им нельзя!

Ведь у каждого стоит за спиной,

Каждый в битве охраняет собой…

Солнышко свое красное,

Алую зорю ясную…

Вражья стая расстелилась стеной,

Вражья сталь расплескалась волной,

Но столкнулась со стеною стена,

Сталью сталь стаей стаю тесня…

Щит о щит, в грудь копье, крик в лицо!

Сабли звон, свист стрелы, кровь ручьем!

Но убитым я останусь стоять,

У меня никто не сможет отнять…

Солнышко мое красное,

Алую зорю ясную,

Веточку мою гибкую,

Кошечку мою дикую…

Много наших в том бою полегло,

Не осталось почти никого,

Но свободною будет в дали,

На просторах родной стороны…
