I think I am hopeless

I’ve written all these letters

Hid them from my parents

Fold and tear the paper

Said I was a child

When I saw my skin

Said it was for science

Said it wasn’t sin

You saw your own way in

Now I am just a child

I’m now 23 years old

She says I’m making progress

Because I’m setting goals

Well I saw in the paper

Another ambulance

And if I’m being honest

I think I envy them
