В декабре — под новый год

На ковре валялся кот.

Не баюн и не чеширский,

а обыкновенный рыжий кот…

Ничего ненужно делать,

Лишь молчать, да мурчать.

И терпеть, когда хозяин

Целый день будет ворчать…

В полночь набегут друзья,

Благо их никто не видит,

И не будет злиться,

Кроме рыжего кота

И двух зеленых глаз провидца…

Ночью, когда все уснут,

Тихо на подушках,

Через потайную дверцу,

Сквозь чердак на крышу…

Ах, как бьется сердце!

Там уже давно одна

Ждет его она…

В Декабре, под новый год,

В обнимку с рыжей кошкой,

А рядом кто-то мяукал из лукошка…
