Havia uma sacola com uma mascara

E uma garota a encontrou

De início teve medo

Não sabia o que fazer

E nem como compor

Mas colocou sobre o seu rosto

E lhe caiu tão bem

Ficou

Acometida pela euforia de uma nova

Face se lançou

Na rua e o mundo lhe retribuiu com

Flores

Ninguém duvidou

Que a mascara cobria um rosto que

Antes era só

Temor

E nada parecia lhe fazer parar de

Acreditar

Que o novo rosto, e forte, na verdade

Sempre fora o seu

E mesmo que alertassem

Ela respondia só:

«Sou eu»

Mas teve um dia que ao descer à rua

O mundo desabou

Outros tantos lindos mascarados

Transitavam sem pudor

Ajoelhou com raiva

Olhou pros céus

E antes de gritar

Chorou

E ao se levantar

Olhou pros mascarados

Condenou

São todos falsos

Tantas cópias

De um rosto que antes era meu

Ninguém lhe dava ouvidos

Ela então cansada se desmascarou

E sorriu

E dizem que sorrindo ela entendeu

Que a vida só se dá

Pra quem se deu
