Oft habe ich auf Sand gebaut

Hab' mir nicht selten zu viel zugetraut

Doch wie man sieht ich lebe noch.

Oft war ich unbelehrbar blind

Bei tausend Trnen

Die milungen sind.

Und denke ich an die vergang’ne Zeit

Dann wei ich heut':

Ich hab' so viele Dinge falsch gemacht

Hab' das Beste gewollt und hab' mich

Dann doch um den Erfolg gebracht.

War ein Clown

Ein Phantast

Ein Spieler

Aber du warst immer da.

Ich hab' so viele Dinge falsch geseh’n

Und die Zeit rann mir durch die Finger

Doch mir konnte nichts gescheh’n

Denn der einzige Mensch

Der wirklich wichtig war

Den hielt ich fest fr’s ganze Leben.

Trume der Jugend sind so schn

Obwohl sie selten in Erfllung geh’n.

Was hatte ich nicht alles vor.

Aber ich lernte irgendwann

Wie hart der Alltag oft entzaubern kann.

Nur gut

Da deine Liebe Jahr fr Jahr

Mein Anker war.

I did so many things wrong

I saw so many things wrong

And time slipped through my fingers

But nothing could happen to me

Because the only human

Which was really important

I held on to it for my whole life.

Dreams of youth are so beautiful

Although they rarely come true.

What didn't I plan to do?

But eventually I learned

How hard everyday life can often be disenchanting.

Only good

Since your love year after year

My anchor was

I did so many things wrong

I wanted the best and got me

Then you lost success after all.

Was a clown

A dreamer

a player

But you were always there.

I saw so many things wrong

And time slipped through my fingers

But nothing could happen to me

Because the only human

Which was really important

I held on to it for my whole life.

And when I see both of us

Am I happy and confess

Besides so many things

which I did wrong

I've managed to do a lot.
