Each day I awake, there’s a time

Before I recall that life’s no longer mine

I feel the wind in my hair

And hear the sound of rain in the evening air

But then the moment is done

The pain that grows inside me isn’t gone

I rise with the sun every day

I live what I can with the time that’s left to me

But then the evening comes

Reminds me that my time isn’t long

And when I’m with you, I feel free

Like time’s standing still

And nothing worries me

The sun will still shine when I’m gone

For life carries on
