Eu sai dos Olhos d'Água

Fui até Alagoinha

Agora colega veja

Como carregado eu vinha

Trazia minha nega

E também minha filhinha

Trazia o meu tatu-bola

Filho do tatu-bolinha

Trazia o meu facão

Com todo o aço que tinha

Vinte couros de boi manso

Só no bocal da bainha

Trazia uma capoeira

Com quatrocentas galinhas

Vinte sacos de feijão

E trinta sacos de farinha

Mas a sorte desandou

Quando eu cheguei em Alagoinha

Bexiga deu na nega

Catapora na filhinha

Morreu o meu tatu-bola

Filho do tatu-bolinha

Roubaram o meu facão

Como todo o aço que tinha

Vinte couros de boi manso

Só no bocal da bainha

Morreu minha capoeira

Das quatrocentas galinhas

Gorgulho deu no feijão, colega

E mofo deu na farinha
