Ich liebe meine Küche

Wir sind ein schönes Paar

Ich mag ihre Gerüche

Und ich mag ihr Inventar

Da sind noch andre Zimmer

Doch darin bin ich kaum

Irgendwas zieht mich immer-

Fort zurück in diesen Raum

Und ich spür ganz deutlich während jedes Schmauses:

Die Küche ist das Herz des ganzen Hauses

Wir zwei ähneln einander

Mal ist sie blitzeblank

Mal total durcheinander

Und mal fehl’n Tassen im Schrank

Mal ist sie wirklich eklig

Mal eine wahre Zier

Manchmal schlicht unerträglich

Ganz genauso geht’s mit mir

Sie ist zu meiner Persönlichkeit der Schlüssel

Und erklärt mir manchen Sprung in mancher Schüssel!

Wie oft gingen die Wogen

Darin hoch zwischen uns zwein

Da sind Teller geflogen

Wie kann so was befrei’n!

Was haben wir gestritten

Was haben wir versiebt!

Und uns danach inmitten

Der Ruinen doch geliebt!

Wieviele Tränen haben wir beide vergossen

Und Sektkorken in die Decke geschossen!

Ich aß bei Paul Bocuse

Ich aß bei Manne Pahl

Ich aß in der Kombüse

Und ich aß im Wartesaal

Ich aß überall gerne

Und meinen Teller leer

Und doch fehlt in der Ferne

Mir meine Küche sehr

Und ich frage mich, wenn ich ausgeh schon zerrissen

Ob mich meine Kass’rolln wohl auch vermissen

Der Gasmann darf zum Zähler

Der Klempner darf ins Klo

Der Hauswart in den Keller

Und die Post darf ins Büro

Ich hör Vertretersprüche

Im Hausflur, doch allein:

Ich lass in Herz und Küche

Nur meine Freunde rein

Denen aber gönn' ich dann die feinsten Happen

Meinen Treteimer und gar meine Topflappen

Da sitz ich nun und denke

Halt' meinen Monolog

Der Ort ist meine Tränke

Meine Krippe und mein Trog

Da wohnen Knoblauchdünste

Riesling und Blumenkohl

Musen und schöne Künste

Ja, da ist mir so sauwohl

Und müsste ich eines Tags wirklich ableben

Dann möcht' ich gern hier den Löffel abgeben!

We are a beautiful couple

I like their smells

And I like their inventory

There are other rooms

But I'm hardly in it

Something always pulls me

Away back into this room

And I feel very clearly during every feast:

The kitchen is the heart of the whole house

We two resemble each other

Sometimes she's sparkling clean

Totally confused

And sometimes there's a cup missing in the cupboard

Sometimes she's really gross

A real ornament

Sometimes just unbearable

It's the same with me

It is the key to my personality

And explains to me some jumps in some bowls!

How often did the waves go

In it high between the two of us

There were plates flying

How can something like that liberate!

What were we arguing about

What have we missed!

And then in the middle of us

Loved the ruins!

How many tears have we both shed

And shot champagne corks into the ceiling!

I ate at Paul Bocuse's

I ate at Manne Pahl's

I ate in the galley

And I ate in the waiting room

I like to eat anywhere

And my plate empty

And yet missing in the distance

I love my kitchen

And I wonder if I go out already torn

I wonder if my Kass'rolln miss me too

The gas man can go to the meter

The plumber can use the toilet

The caretaker in the basement

And the mail is allowed in the office

I hear proxies

In the hallway, but alone:

I leave in heart and kitchen

Just my friends in

But then I treat them to the finest bites

My pedal bin and even my pot holders

I'm sitting there now and thinking

Hold my monologue

The place is my potion

My crib and my trough

Garlic fumes live there

Riesling and cauliflower

Muses and fine arts

Yes, I feel so good about that

And if I really had to die one day

Then I would like to hand over the spoon here!
