Hin und wieder geißl' ich mich und geh' hart mit mir ins Gericht

Und befrag' mich hochnotpeinlich, ob ich glaube oder nicht

Nur ein bißchen Folter und schon erpress' ich mir den Beweis

Dass ich erstens gar nichts glaube und zweitens gar nichts weiß

Ich glaub' nur, dass wenn es ihn tatsächlich geben sollte

Er, was hier in seinem Namen abgeht, gar nicht wollte!

Erstmal glaub' ich, dass die Weihwasserbeckenfrösche ihn stören

Und die viel zu großen Häuser, die angeblich ihm gehören

Glaubt ihr denn, er ist auf Lakaien und Grundbesitz erpicht?

Ja-Sager und Immobilien?

Ich glaube nicht!

Ich glaub' nicht, wenn es ihn wirklich gibt, dass er’s überaus liebt

Dass sich jemand hartnäckig als sein Stellvertreter ausgibt

Und sich für unfehlbar hält.

Ich glaub nicht, dass es ihm gefällt

Dass man ihm krause Ansichten als 'sein Wille' unterstellt

Ich verwette mein Gesäß: Brimborium und Geplänkel

Mummenschanz und Rumgeprotze gehn ihm auf den Senkel

Dieses Ringeküssen, diese selbstgefäll'gen Frömmigkeiten

Dies in seinem Namen Eselei’n und Torheiten verbreiten

Glaubt ihr, dass er will, dass irgendwer an seiner Stelle spricht?

Irgend so ein kleines Licht?

Ich glaub' nicht, dass er in seiner Weisheit, seinem ew’gen Rat

Sowas Abartiges ausgeheckt hat wie den Zöllibat

Denn sonst hätt' er sich zum Arterhalt was andres ausgedacht

Und uns nicht so fabelhafte Vorrichtungen angebracht

Welch ein Frevel, daran rumzupfuschen, zu beschneiden

Zu verstümmeln!

Statt sich dran zu erfreu’n, dran zu leiden!

Und wenn Pillermann und Muschi nicht in den Masterplan passen

Glaubt ihr nicht, er hätt' sie schlicht und einfach weggelassen?

Glaubst du Mensch, armsel’ger Stümper, du überheblicher Wicht

Dass du daran rumschnippeln darfst?

Ich glaube nicht!

Ich glaub' nicht, dass ihm der Höllenlärm etwas bedeutet

Wenn man in die göttliche Ruhe hinein die Glocken läutet

Ich bin sicher, dass er es als schlimme Lästerung betrachtet

Wenn man, um ihn zu bestechen kleine Lämmerchen abschlachtet

Und er muss sich sofort übergeben, denkt er nur ans Schächten

Oder an die schleim’gen Heuchler, an diese gottlosen Schlechten

Die scheinheilig die Kinderlein zu sich kommen lassen

Und ihnen in die Hose fassen!

Ich glaub' nicht, dass er in euren pompösen Palästen thront

Ich glaub' eher, dass er beim geringsten meiner Brüder wohnt

Eher bei den Junkies, bei den Trebern im Park als in Rom

Eher in den Slums, den Schlachthöfen, den Ghettos als im Dom

Im Parterre bei Oma Krause, in der Aldi-Filiale

Eher auf dem Straßenstrich als in der Kathedrale

Wo Schiefköpfige, Händeknetende Schuldgefühle schüren

Eitel, selbstgerecht, als würden sie IHN an der Leine führen

Eher als in eurer düstren, modrig-lustfeindlichen Gruft

Sitzt er unter freiem Himmel in der lauen, klaren Luft

Neben mir auf der Bank vor der Gartenlaube
