I’m fighting a battle and I just won’t win

You’ve never cared before, just trying to give

you everything but yet you still want more

I’m running out of time, to be what you expect

A part of the problem — you’re the cause and not the effect

The pressure keeps on building, and I’m crushed by the weight

Is this all there is?

I won’t resign to this fate

Don’t try to pretend that we’re in this together, I’m counting down the days

‘til I can cut this tether, and I’d rather burn out than fade away

It seems the only way to move on is to forget
