I was asleep then.

You called around ten,

Asking about when

I didn’t know who I was,

Much less who I wanted to be.

But you followed me around,

And watched my life going down.

You came around right on time

So I could hear you say,

I was never good with words,

But this time they came conferred,

Spoken to be more than heard.

It’d been quite a while.

But you showed me around town,
