Jedes Jahr um die Weihnachtstage

Stell ich mir immer wieder diese eine Frage

So viel Menschen haben Leid

Haben eine schwere Zeit

Darf ich glücklich sein solange es das gibt

Jedes Kind braucht Träume für sein Leben

Und wir können sie auch allen Kindern geben

Machen viel Menschen mit

Dann hilft jedr kleine Schritt

Und wir zeigen dass es mehr als Hoffnung gibt

Gemeinsam stark für das was zählt

Für jedes Kind auf dieser Welt

Wir sind das Licht auf einem Weg zum Leben

Gemeinsam stark, gemeinsam stark

Nur ein Wort kann manchmal viel bedeuten

Nur ein Trost ist oft genug in dunklen Zeiten

Und ein Brief kann Hoffnung sein

Legt man Mitgefühl hinein

Wer ihn liest ist eine Zeitlang nicht allein

Und wir können sie auch allen Kindern geben

Gerade jetzt verfolgt mich diese Frage

So wie jedes Jahr und um die Weihnachtstage

Und ich les den letzten Brief

Der noch auf dem Schreibtisch liegt

Denn da schreibt mir jemand: Gut dass es dich gibt

Für jedes Kind auf dieser Welt

Wir sind das Licht auf einem Weg zum Leben

I keep asking myself this one question

So many people are suffering

having a hard time

May I be happy as long as that exists

Every child needs dreams for their life

And we can also give them to all children

Do a lot of people

Then every small step helps

And we show that there is more than hope

Strong together for what matters

For every child in this world

We are the light on a path to life

Strong together, strong together

Sometimes just one word can mean a lot

Just one consolation is often enough in dark times

And a letter can be hope

Put compassion into it

Whoever reads it is not alone for a while

This question is haunting me right now

Just like every year and around Christmas

And I read the last letter

Which is still on the desk

Because then someone writes to me: It's good that you exist
