I wrote a page

But no one would read

I wore the reins

But no one would lead

I saw a light

Glowing alone

And then a hand

It was guiding me home

You found a cure

Though no one was ill

You bore away

To show me your will

You kept your resolve

I want to be made in your mould

And so I sat

I was burning with shame

And when you called

It wasn’t the same

And though you stopped

And waited for me

I knew that I would never leave

Here comes a candle

To light your way

Here comes a bell to ring at your grave

Here comes a finger to count your flaws

Here comes an answer to open the door

Did we already fail
