un giornale ed un caffè

guardo in giro e mi è simpatica la gente

aria della mia città

di comuni desideri

come avere un cane o gli occhi blu

o un milione in tasca in più.

La bambina guarda il traffico

grande come un temporale

come il treno come il cinema ed il mare

e gli abeti di Natale.

Il ragazzo di colore

beve birra e pensa all’Africa

a che cosa pensi tu?

Pensi a me qui ad aspettare

o al parcheggio o alla malinconia

di un’età che scappa via.

Dove sei

arriva in fretta qui

tutti aspettano qualcosa intorno a me

il week end, la frenata di un taxi

o le mani di un amore.

Da che parte del tramonto arriverai

che cosa ti dirò?

Ti dirò che stai benissimo

con le guance un po' più piene

che ho comprato un’altra macchina più grande

che ti voglio ancora bene.

Senza te è come non poter fumare

affondare in gocce di malinconia

vola via lo scontrino del caffè

mentre battono le ore

da che parte del tramonto arriverai

che cosa mi dirai?

Mi dirai che c’era traffico

che hai cambiato parrucchiera

o che se ricominciassimo da zero

tornerebbe primavera.
