У Золушки много забот:

Ей надо полить огород,

И дюжину пестрых заплат

Ей надо нашить на зад.

А фея сказала ей:

«О, Золушка, будь умней,

Стыдно бегать в наряде таком,

Когда под боком королевский дом.

Ты зайдешь лишь на минутку

И сыграешь роль,

И тебе подарит шубку

Голубой король».

И грянул бал, лишь только

Солнце закатилось за бугор;

И Золушки башмак хрустальный

Произвел фурор.

И были рыцари в экстазе,

Готовы вылезти из лат;

И карлик весь стол излазил

Ногой уминая салат.

У Золушки много забот:

Ей надо водить хоровод,

Ей надо везде поспеть,

Для всех улыбаться и петь.

А голубой король был ласков

И говорил не в шутку:

«Да ты сегодня просто сказка,

И ты получишь шубку».

Надулась Золушка изрядно,

Взгляд устремляла в пустоту:

«Король, мне не нужны награды,

Меня ты принял не за ту».

А фея сказала ей:

«О, Золушка, будь умней,
