На одной из наших улиц был веселый дом.

Там, раскручивая пленки, пел магнитофон.

Жизнерадостный жокей улыбался до ушей.

Всего вечера душа, говорил он не спеша —

«Для тебя папа

Будет Заппа.

Для тебя крошка

Аббы немножко.

Для тебя сынок

Тяжелый рок».

Но в веселом этом доме появился враг.

И, расправой угрожая, требовал гапак.

Но собравшийся народ порезвиться не дает.

И, вступив в борьбу с толпой, вел себя он как герой.

По углам швыряя пленки,

Головой крушил колонки.

Кто прихлопывал в ладоши, кто взлетал до потолка.

Так что получилось что-то вроде гапака.

Нам хвалить подобное вроде не с руки.

Но зато в тот вечер не было тоски.

Каждый веселился как умел и мог,

Не жалея рук, не жалея ног.

Та-да-да-дай!

There was a cheerful house on one of our streets.

Some clapped their hands, some flew up to the ceiling.

But on the other hand, there was no melancholy that evening.
