Inlassablement sillonnent les artères

Ils rampent, glissent parmi les ombres

Sur le fleuve les premiers rayons,

Echappés de l’horizon

Rampent, recouvrent l’eau d’or et d’ombres

Le lever du soleil

Comme Pharaon-Pharaon, je prie Amon

Que la nuit se sauve

Je l’appelle, appelle au secours

Pour qu' à l’horizon arrive Amon

Que le ciel devienne fauve

Je l’appelle, j’attends son retour

Que la ville enfin voie le jour

Et qu’il inonde nos rues

Nos maisons, chasse le noir

Qu’il nous réchauffe tant et plus

Que ceux qui dorment sur le trottoir

Se lèvent sortent enfin de l’ombre
