Kurz vor fünf, die Zeit bleibt stehen,

alle woll’n nach Hause gehen,

jeder hat das Eine nur im Sinn,

und im Lande die Millionen,

ganz egal, wo sie auch wohnen,

schmeißen ihre Arbeit einfach hin.

Das ist die Zeit, wo auch der Pedro deutsch versteht,

wenn man ihm sagt, daß es in fünf Minuten

ab nach Hause geht:

alle fühlen jetzt das Gleiche,

und sie freu’n sich auf ein kleines Glück.

Man sieht im Geist schon, wie das Bier im Glase zischt,

und weiß am Stammtisch im Lokal,

da sind die Karten schon gemischt:
