Cercava nelle carte

Un po di buona sorte

Ricordo quella sera che a vincere fu lui

Gli dissi sei il piu bravo fra di noi

Guardandomi negli occhi rispose

«Che ne sai, io nella vita non ha vinto mai»

Lui non aveva santi

Ma forse aveva un Dio

Magari ci creda a modo suo

Mischiava i sentimenti

Al tavolo dei sogni

E in cerca di fortuna ci lasciò

Non so perché non so con chi

Ricominciò a giocare

Da quella sera non tornò più qui

Rischiava per mestiere

Divenne «il giocatore»

E tutti ora lo chiamano così

E il giorno che una donna gli disse «andiamo via»

Rispose con la solita ironia

«mi vedi sempre vincere ma forse tu non sai

Che al gioco della vita io

Fino ad oggi non ho vinto mai»!
