Nosliw hab ich kennen gelernt es was '98 auf’m Rapkonzert

Ich gab ihm meine Probs, er mir sein Demo-Tape

Von sich und seinen Bonner Kollegen von D.U.G

Dann hat Nattyflo uns Headz gezeigt

Wie man chantet und singt in Jamaican Style

Und wir wussten gleich, das wird fruchtbar sein

Und so kam’s zur Hiphop-Reggae-Combination

Babylon war unsere erste Single

Wir hab’n dabei gespürt, dass uns mehr verbindet

Und dann lud mich Nosliw ein zum steil gehen

Ich sollt' am Wochenende auf ner Jam sing'

Und aus der Jam wurde ne Tournee

Und ich hab nach dem Rappen für Flo aufgelegt

Und hab mitgesungen, Mann, ich leckte Blut

Und ich wurde immer mehr zu nem Reggae Youth

Und Natty nahm mich mit auf Soundsystem-Gigs

Von Dance zu Dance durch die Republik

Um gemeinsam noch mehr live zu spiel’n

Und aus mir und ihm wurd' ein Dancehall-Team

Wir stellten uns so der Massive vor

Hatten bei Rootdown unser Soundlabor

Machten manche Nacht durch Studio-Action

Und für die Soundbwoys Dubplate-Sessions

Darauf folgten immer mehr Events

Irgendwann ging es los mit ner Backing-Band

Auf die Festivals und wir konnten seh’n

Wie das Publikum uns’re Texte singt

Oh ja wir sind dankbar, denn wir wissen, dass wir gesegnet sind

Mit den Menschen, die uns begegneten

So was passiert, wenn sich Wege kreuzen

Ein jeder kennt das bei seinen Freunden

Dieses Gefühl, wenn die Vibes so nice sind

Das ist nicht selbstverständlich

Denn man weiss es meistens nicht

Was daraus wird, wenn man sich trifft

Wicht alle Wege führ'n zum Ziel

Und manche Freundschaft zählt nicht viel

Wir werden von einander geprägt

I met Nosliw it was at a rap concert in '98

I gave him my samples, he gave me his demo tape

From himself and his Bonn colleagues from D.U.G

Then Nattyflo showed us Headz

How to chant and sing in Jamaican style

And we knew right away that it would be fruitful

And that's how the hip-hop reggae combination came about

Babylon was our first single

We felt that we had more in common

And then Nosliw invited me to go steep

I should sing at a jam at the weekend

And the jam turned into a tour

And I djed for Flo after rapping

And sang along, man, I licked blood

And I became more and more of a reggae youth

And Natty would take me to sound system gigs

From dance to dance through the republic

To play even more live together

And me and him became a dancehall team

This is how we introduced ourselves to the Massive

Had our sound lab at Rootdown

Made some nights of studio action

And for the Soundbwoys dubplate sessions

More and more events followed

At some point it started with a backing band

To the festivals and we could see

How the audience sings our lyrics

Oh yes we are grateful because we know we are blessed

With the people we met

That's what happens when paths cross

Everyone knows that with their friends

That feeling when the vibes are so nice

That is not a matter of course

Because most of the time you don't know

What happens when you meet

All roads lead to the goal

And some friendships don't count for much

We are shaped by each other

The point is what you get out of it

How to move forward together

We wouldn't be what we are without links
