Interlude 2 - Mykki Blanco

How my heart aches

In my soul, I have an idea of love

Want to be in love, want to know intimacy

This desire burns in me so deeply

Deeper than my desire to act

Or entertain, or become prosperous, or famous, or successful

It’s a burning deep in my core, just to be loved

A monogamous love, a really sweet special love

Will this burning desire in me ever cease?

Isn’t even sexual.

It’s love

But perhaps I’m going to have to love myself first

Really learn to respect myself

Really learn to value myself, treat myself good

I know, I know deeper than anything I’ve ever known

Just like the man, if I keep myself open

Intimacy will find me
